fucking macbook

ok. i have been in love with apple since about 1984, but i have to say i am not pleased with my new macbook. i think i've been very lucky when it comes to the macs in my life. though many have come and gone, i really didn't have major issues with any of them.

however, i just bought this fucking macbook on thursday, and from the moment i took it out of the box, i have been experiencing a delay using the trackpad after a) typing, b) navigating from one web page to another, and c) after quitting applications. i have reset the pram and the power manager and am now being told to make an appointment at the genius bar, because the so-called genius might be able to see something that i cannot.

considering the stories i've heard about the genius bar, i'm not really looking forward to this. i will take my macbook there, because i want it to work seamlessly as it should. but i am not optimistic any apple-proclaimed genius is going to do much more than reset the pram and the power manager (because they seem to think this is the answer to a whole slew of problems).

when i buy something new, particularly a $1499 piece of hardware from one of the world's most lucrative corporations, i expect it to work perfectly. there will certainly be a follow up post to this.
